RIDM – Unframing Documentary

The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is one of North America’s leading documentary film festivals. Each year, the RIDM presents around a hundred Canadian and international documentaries. Its industry event, Forum RIDM, is Quebec’s only documentary forum.

Unframing Documentary presents sound works to be experienced in the darkness of Cinéma Moderne. To tell stories through sound is to access an endlessly evocative power, akin to that of literature, and one that offers unprecedented creative freedom. As Orson Welles once said: “on the radio, the screen is larger than in the cinema.”
