For young Nicole and her best friend Véronique, summer should be synonymous with escape and adventure. She daydreams at work, imagines herself in Iceland and spends time with her big brother’s band. Instead, her chronic insomnia keeps her in a permanent trance and trapped between the carefree teenage years and the impending arrival of adulthood; Nicole goes through a summer that, seemingly endless, seems to slip through her fingers.
