Julian moves into the house that his grandmother left him after her death. While cleaning, he discovers her collection of books and vinyl records from black artists. After a push from his girlfriend Gwen, Julian transforms his inheritance into a communal living space where politics and creativity thrive. With echoes of May 1968 and the French New Wave, The Inheritance is a liberated, inspired and engaged film where fiction and documentary go hand in hand.
