This 11th KFFC screening features in water (2023, Korea; Québec premier) by prolific filmmaker HONG Sangsoo. The film centers around three friends who are trying to make a film together. This bold, experimental, dreamy yet real film-within-a-film reflects HONG’s rigorous strive to reinvent filmic forms in his use of landscapes and the tense pursuit of an artist’s passion project. Film lovers will not want to miss this daring approach to film narratives by tendentious South Korean filmmaker HONG Sangsoo.
in water belongs to KFFC’s “East meets West” category, which features remarkable films that represent a cultural bridge between the global East and West. It is also part of the “Spotlight: Asian Quebecois Film and Media Arts” category which features Asian Quebecois artists and their communities across Canada and the diaspora.
Tickets are available at the price of $14 for the general public and $10 for students and seniors (with the presentation of an ID).
