Cemetery of Splendor (2015, Thailand) by Apichatpong Weerasethakul focuses on a woman treating a soldier with sleeping sickness. Apichatpong’s representation of bodily intimacy on film evokes the 11th KFFC’s theme “Arts & Technologies: Sleep, Dream, and Body,” as we are showcasing films and media arts that highlight how personal experiences intersect with social issues and technological advancements through Asian cinema and media arts. This will be the final film to conclude the 11th KFFC 2024.
Cemetery of Splendor (2015, Thailand) will be presented as a part of “Side by Side” category that aims to highlight Asian and North American artists, including Canadians, to explore converging (and diverging) aesthetics, narratives, and shared experiences.
Tickets are available at the price of $14 for the general public and $10 for students and seniors (with the presentation of an ID).
