Director Chloé Aïcha Boro returns to her native courtyard in Burkina Faso, following the death of her uncle, Ousmane Coulibaly, the family patriarch and owner of the courtyard. His inheritance is at stake: some want to sell it, while others want to keep it as a sacred living space that unites the family according to ancestral traditions and bonds of solidarity. In this dead end story, the courtyard becomes a theater of family tensions, a unique testimony to the socio-economic and religious evolution of a West African society.
