KFFC – Take Care of My Cat

Take Care of My Cat (2001, Korea) by female director JEONG Jae-eun. The film is about the friendship of five girls who are navigating life after graduating high school, recalling the advent of early mobile phones with globalization, and the change of telecommunications technologies that underscore the film’s themes relating to connectivity and friendship. It is also a plus to see the early performance of BAE Doona, prominent world actress who was chosen as the Female Movie Star of the Year in 2023 by the Women’s Film Society in Korea. Director JEONG has received numerous awards for this iconic coming of age film.

Take Care of My Cat (2001, Korea) belongs to KFFC’s “East meets West” category, which features remarkable films that represent a cultural bridge between the global East and West.
